Ultra High Power White LED with add-on Filterwheel

Prizmatix Ultra High Power (UHP) White LED (>2 Watt of collimated white light) is now offered with an add-on filter wheel accessory (pictured right). This simple to operate manual filter wheel is capable of accommodating six standard 1" filters. Together with Prizmatix UHP-460 (blue), UHP-520 (green) and UHP-630(red) LEDs, with the filter wheel the UHP-White can cover the entire visible spectrum with powerful LED illumination.

The filter wheel module can be attached to existing UHP-LED heads: in less than a minute, just four set screws are used to attach the filter wheel or disassemble it from the UHP-LED head.

In keeping with the tradition of Prizmatix versatile and modular systems, the UHP-White LED with filter wheel can be used either as a collimated lightsource (top left), e.g. for direct coupling to epifluorescence microscopes, or as a fiber-coupled light source (bottom left).

Ideal for Optogenetics, the White UHP-LED spectrum can be narrowed by using optional band pass filters to excite Channelrhodopsin and Halorhodopsin, as well as many dyes in the visible spectrum.

Key features:
  • Single chip Ultra High Brightness White LED
  • TTL external triggering (no shutter needed)
  • Micro-Second Rise-time and Fall-time
  • Excellent for fluorescence excitation
  • Stable precisely adjustable power
  • Long life (no lamp or laser tube replacement required)
  • Rapid warm up time

Prizmatix 2010-2011 Standard LED Products Overview

Prizmatix 2010-2011 Standard LED Products Overview is now available. This two-pages overview summarizes Prizmatix fiber coupled LED light sources and our modular Microscope LED light sources. Thanks to Prizmatix distributor in Taiwan Tseng Hsiang Life Science Ltd www.thco.com.tw the brochure about the LED light sources is also available in Chinese.

The modularity and versatility of the UHP (Ultra High Power) LEDs is emphasized - they can be coupled to either microscope, optical fiber or lightguide, and can be assembled together to create a comprehensive multi-wavelength LED light source.

The coupling of the LED system to fiber is especially important for physiology researchers working on Optogenetics. The same system can be used directly coupled to microscope and as point activation LED system for Channelrhodopsin (see other posts in Prizmatix Blog regarding this application).
